Snow-covered pines, cozy fires, quiet mornings.

Misty Mountain Chalet
A hand-built log cabin on two private acres in the Prescott National Forest, thirty minutes from downtown Prescott, Arizona.
Welcome to the mountains
Hand-built from Alaskan hemlock logs, Misty Mountain Chalet is a one-of-a-kind retreat with forest views from every single room.
Tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings, hand-carved railings, and a custom stained glass window give the cabin a soul all its own. Mornings begin slowly on the porch rockers, evenings gather around the fire, and deer and wild turkeys wander past the windows.

★★★★★“Absolutely stunning space. The roads at the top of the mountain are a little rough but manageable and worth it once you get up there. It was so peaceful and the stars were amazing.”
★★★★★“The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Very quiet and great seating to relax on the patio. Candice thinks of everything!”
★★★★★“Beautiful, peaceful and well appointed throughout the home. We found some great hiking and my elderly dog seemed very content as well.”
Getting here
The chalet feels deeply secluded, yet downtown Prescott is about thirty minutes away and shopping is ten miles down the hill. The last few miles follow forest dirt roads, so a vehicle with decent clearance is helpful. The exact address is shared after booking.
Good to know
Everything you need to arrive relaxed and ready for the mountains. Full house rules and the cancellation policy are on the Airbnb listing.
Up to eight. There are three bedrooms (a king suite upstairs, a queen room, and a full room on the main level) plus a sofa bed in the upstairs loft.
Yes. Up to two pets are welcome, approved in advance when you book. The yard is not fenced and the cabin sits on forested land, so keep an eye on your companions outdoors.
Check in any time after 4:00 PM and check out by 11:00 AM. Self check-in with a keypad, so arrive on your own schedule.
The last few miles follow forest dirt roads. Delivery trucks use them daily, but they can be bumpy and steep in places, so a vehicle with decent clearance is helpful. Cell service is spotty: download your route before you leave town.
In the winter months we strongly recommend snow tires, chains, or four-wheel drive. Plows can take a few days to come through, and deep snow can temporarily block the short private road to the cabin.
Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace are provided. Cell service around the property is limited, and because of the remote location occasional outages are possible.
Yes, a private EV charger is on the property for guests.
Central heat and air conditioning, a Nest thermostat, ceiling fans, plus a wood-burning stove and electric fireplaces for cozy evenings. Please observe local fire restrictions, which can include the wood stove.
The cabin is on a private well. The water is filtered and fine for showers and washing, but it is not purified, so we recommend bottled water for drinking, cooking, and coffee.
Absolutely. We do not provide baby or toddler gear such as cribs, high chairs, or pack-and-plays, so please bring what your little ones need.
Registered guests only, no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, no parties or events, and quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. Because of wildlife, keep food indoors and put bagged trash in the secured outdoor bin.
Very likely. Deer and wild turkeys wander through regularly, and the forest is also home to javelina, foxes, coyotes, and the occasional bobcat or bear. Admire from a distance and never feed them.
Yes. A washer and dryer are in the cabin for guest use.
